New Year’s Resolutions for the Family

With each ball drop we formulate great, forward-thinking New Year’s resolutions- but seldom do we stick to them. Creating New Year’s resolutions as a family incorporates the spirit of team-work and responsibility- encouraging you to stick to your goals. We used our experience and expertise to devise a list of realistic and beneficial family resolutions. Here’s what we came up with!

Our Favorite Family New Year’s Resolutions- Try a couple out, and more importantly stick to them!

Read together as a family

Show your kids how important reading is by routinely sitting down and reading with them. Parent’s enthusiasm will encourage the lil’ ones’ interest. We recommend dimming the lights, getting under a blanket, and dedicating some time before bed- your kids’ brains will grow bigger as their eyelids grow heavier. It’s never too soon to start teaching them how to read!

Let the kids be your lil’ helpers!

Got lil’ things to fix around the house? Save fixing those bike tires or sewing up those hand-me-down jeans for when your kid gets home. They’ll love feeling a sense of importance from you needing their help, and will be learning in the process. A productive form of bonding!

Unplug each week

Our endless amount of electronics certainly makes life easier, but they can also fog what’s important. “Unplugging” for at least one hour per week will encourage more physical activities and socializing. Grab your snow gear & go sledding, let the kids learn about their environment while helping you with some chores, or have some friends over for dinner and a playdate. These sorts of activities make the work week faster and more fun!

Make dinnertime family time

Accustom the family to sitting down together for dinner ensures that even during the busiest weeks, you’ll always have some family time. And cooking with children aids in reading, science and math, self-sufficiency, and problem- solving skills, so let them start helping now!

More Veggies Less Sweets

Sure it takes a bit more time and care to eat healthy, but we are what we eat. Don’t keep too much junk in the house, and make yummy veggie snacks readily accessible. Cut up some carrots and celery, place them next to healthy dips, and leave them reachable in your fridge for you and your kids. You can even get inspiration from sources like Sneaky Chef and sneak nutrition into your kids favorite snacks!

Say ‘I Love You’ More

You’ve got to appreciate hearing a family with kids in their teens and beyond saying “I Love You” regularly, whether it’s sibling to sibling or kid to parent. To ensure this lovely spoken sentiment survives the decades- start saying it more now! And there’s no better feeling in the world than a tot saying they love you as they wrap their arms around you, so what could be bad?

Plan at Least One Family Vacation Per Year

Making family vacations a yearly tradition not only provides you with a week of laughs and amazing memories, but gives you something to look forward to year round. You don’t necessarily need to go all out at a tropical resort- you can just easily rent a cabin on a lake and spend the week fishing, mini golfing and go-carting, roasting marshmallows and BBQing. Invite some friends with kids of similar ages and let the memories begin!

Minimal information will be provided to each babysitter to allow them to work for you; however, each babysitter has signed a confidentiality agreement forbidding them to disclose this information to anyone except Lucky Lil’ Darlings.

These Terms of Use represent the entire and complete Terms of Use for www.luckylildarlings.com, other terms apply to the use of Lucky Lil’ Darlings services.

Should any portion or provision of the Terms of Use be found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court with proper jurisdiction, then that provision is stricken from the Terms of Use and all other provisions remain valid and enforceable, and these Terms of Use remain in effect.

It is against LLD policy for sitters to use their own vehicles, and if you choose to allow a sitter to drive your vehicle, or drive any vehicle while working for you, LLD cannot be held liable for any results of your choice to do so. LLD makes no representations about its sitters driving records or claims any responsibility for the quality of the driving services performed.

Liability

You agree to hold harmless Lucky Lil’ Darlings, for any damages caused by one of its sitters working as a Domestic Provider for the Family.  The Family hereby acknowledges that LLD served only as placement agent among Domestic Provider and the Family.

You hereby agree that Lucky Lil’ Darlings is not to be held responsible for any type of property damage (to your car or a third party's car, or any other property) or bodily injury or death (to either occupants of your car or another car) resulting from one of its sitters using your vehicle. It is against LLD policy for sitters to use their own vehicles, and if you choose to allow a sitter to drive your vehicle, or drive any vehicle while working for you, LLD cannot be held liable for any results of your choice to do so. LLD makes no representations about its sitters driving records or claims any responsibility for the quality of the driving services performed.

Please also note that cancellations or rescheduling done within a 24-hour period of the start time of services are subject to the following fee: $50 fee in NY, NJ, CT & CA; and $40 fee in TX, IL, PA, GA & MA. By agreeing to this waiver you grant us permission to charge your credit card.

BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, FAMILY AFFIRMATIVELY CONSENTS TO AUTOMATIC CHARGES TO THE CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD ACCOUNT PROVIDED BELOW. DURING THE TERM OF THIS AGREEMENT, THE APPLICABLE FEES AGREED TO BETWEEN THE REFERRING PARTY AND THE FAMILY WILL BE CHARGED AUTOMATICALLY TO THIS ACCOUNT. THE SERVICES PROVIDED ARE CONTINUOUS AND WILL CONTINUE UNTIL FAMILY CANCELS OR THE AGREEMENT IS OTHERWISE TERMINATED. FAMILY CAN CANCEL AT ANY TIME BY CONTACTING LLD AT [info@luckylildarlings.com or 917.608.1231]. LLD DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO ITS OBLIGATIONS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT OR OTHERWISE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN ANY EVENT, LLD’S LIABILITY TO FAMILY FOR ANY REASON AND UPON ANY CAUSE OF ACTION SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE NET AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID TO LLD BY FAMILY DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE DATE ON WHICH SUCH CLAIM ACCRUED. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES TO ALL CAUSES OF ACTION IN THE AGGREGATE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, BREACH OF CONTRACT, BREACH OF WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, MISREPRESENTATION, AND OTHER TORTS.
