Are your lil’ ones afraid of monsters? They won’t be after seeing Wanda’s Monster! Lucky Lil’ Darlings was so excited to attend the opening night of “Wanda’s Monster the Musical” by Making Books Sing in NYC last Friday. A few of our sitters helped the lil’ ones get in the mood before the show by drawing their very own monsters and had a blast!

The show put a huge hour-long smile on everyone’s face with its bright colors and energetic choreography. Based on the book by Eileen Spinelli, Wanda’s Monster is the captivating story of 5 year old Wanda who befriends the monster living in her room, because as her Granny tells her, monsters are just misunderstood and need friends too! Filled with catchy songs written by Laurie Berkner, you won’t be able to stay in your seat when “Monster Boogie” starts.

Children and adults alike will learn a valuable lesson about acceptance through Wanda who makes friends with the most unlikely character of all…a Monster! Your lil’ ones will love this upbeat performance and hopefully won’t be afraid of the “monsters” in their rooms again after seeing how silly and lively Wanda’s Monster is!

Lil’ ones learn how good hygiene, healthy eating, exercise, and a good night’s sleep can turn them into a Super Hero! Shannon, one of LLD’s sitters, took 3-year-old twins to see the show, and she and the boys loved the captivating and entertaining show. The lil’ boys thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the show were enthralled by the high energy, amazing costumes, and bright lights! The crowd was filled with kids of all ages who enjoyed the singing, dancing, and storytelling from beloved Sesame Street characters.

Elmo’s Super Heroes was a big hit with the lil’ ones!

Shannon and the boys especially loved the participation portions of the show when the characters ask the lil’ ones in the crowd to join them in dancing and singing. The “Fabulous 5″ team of characters, with Super Elmo at the lead, remind our kids of 4 important daily regimens- eating healthy food, being active, practicing good hygiene, and getting plenty of sleep. What parent or sitter doesn’t want those ideas to be encouraged by some of their kids’ most beloved and trusted characters? Shannon and the boys were smiling from beginning to end and had a blast! This show is a definite crowd pleaser and will keep your lil’ ones engaged with captivating characters and, most importantly, will teach them the importance of good habits!
