I was thinking how cool it would be to have an app for thosetimes when you have a quick question regarding your child. Yes Google helps, but it can be sovague and it takes time to review all of the options that come up.

What if you need something really quick & easy?

I researched around and found Parenting Magazine’s app “Parenting Age’s & Stages”. It is FREE to download and offers a search-engine to ask your own specific questions. They also offer sub categories making it easier to navigate to your answer. Categories include:

AllAges & Stages
Pregnancy
First Year
Second Year
The Early Years
School Years

So whether you have a question about what 5 tooth brushing tricks work for your child or easy ways to ease a baby during bath time or 20tantrum tamers, they cover it all!

Ahhh Another Travel Necessity!

Spring break is around the corner and that meansit’s time for us to compile our favorite list of travel activities to inspire,educate and distract your children. Here is our first!

I was introduced to Lazoo at the J&RJr. store launch a few weeks back. Iwas immediately drawn to the bright colors inspired by the brand’s mission andinterested in learning how to get this creative tool in front of the childrenwe babysit. On my recent trip from Chicago (where LLD newly opened shop this February) I metan adorable two year old girl on my flight and quickly introduced hermother to the Lazoo app. She was fussy and crying sitting on her mother’s lap,but her eyes opened wide and the tears stopped as she watched in awe of theocean picture in front of her on my iPad. We made swiggles in the waves, painted asun in her favorite color yellow, and made fishy faces. Next we tried out thetree with bird. We drew nests for all the mama birds and added baby birds tothe mix. Our last project was the free draw where we drew a spider crawling up awater spout, I sang as she looked on in awe. Itsy, bitsy spider crawled up thewater spout…

This app was a life saver! It helped divert the child’s uneasiness intocreative thinking. Not only did it encourage interest, openness and positiveemotion it made all the other travelers nearby smile as the child calmed down:)
