Easter egg hunt was a hit!

While she didn’t exactly find the highest number of eggs, she thoroughly enjoyed running around the yard and looking under every tree and bush to see if she could find the next egg before her cousins. My husband is wondering about her “competitive spirit” now, which is a story for another day – I guess he hasn’t read the most recent research proving that Easter egg hunting performance has no correlation with future career success.

Really excited about all the prizes!

She loved the candy that she found in some of her eggs, but the money she got in some of them was a hit since she loves putting coins in her piggy bank. All-in-all, we had a great Easter.  Maybe next year Avery’s “competitive spirit” will really come out in the Easter egg hunt.

Every relative was stirring, hopefully not a mouse

The baskets were all hidden around with great care

In hopes that the Easter bunny would soon be there

Happy Easter!

The children were nestled all snug in their cribs, others on couches and blow-up beds

While visions of breakfast and candy eggs danced in their heads

Mom and Dad in their nightshirts, not in  caps

Had just settled down to a short, spring nap

When out in the hall there arose such a clatter

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter

Away to the door I flew like a flash

Tore open the knob and out with a dash

The screams from the nursery were curdling high

What’s wrong with the babies…Oh my!

To what do my wandering eyes do appear

But two red faced babies with diapers to clear

I spoke not a word but went straight to my work

Changed all the diapers and turned with a jerk

Tucking them into their blankets I stumble back to my bed

Assuring the waking family they have nothing to dread

So family relax and go back to sleep

Get used to the new sounds ,you’ll be hearing them all week

Mama Bell tucks herself in, the lovable terrors are out of sight
