Of course, it's pure speculation whether Transcendental Meditation (TM) would have helped Adam Lanza. There is a place for greater access to psychotherapy, too, and perhaps other approaches as well.

But it's a natural speculation. I've been practicing TM for a long time, and find that it releases all of the stress I accumulate each day. I even sense that accumulated stress clearly, so I know pretty well what's going on inside of me. It helps me psychologically, emotionally, mentally, and physically, because it's a unique state of deep rest. It's so deep it not only releases today's stresses, but eats away at the compacted stresses acquired through years of living in this sometimes difficult world.

I recommend TM for everyone. And, for the many who cannot afford TM, or object to its religiosity or mysticism, there are alternatives, such as Natural Stress Relief (NSR). NSR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and is staffed by volunteers. Like TM, it's not in it for the money, but the satisfaction of seeing real transformation of its clients.

Whether through TM or NSR, everyone should learn transcending, because then the world would start having a really wonderful influence of peace and happiness to counteract its current negativity, selfishness, and suffering.
