Great post! It is definitely a difficult decision sometimes, but I think you laid out the pros and cons really well. I personally love having my son in daycare because of the social interaction and the way he is really comfortable now around adults. However, I only had one baby and I am pretty sure it would have been cost prohibitive for me to have tried enroll two at once. Additionally, the one thing you left out of your list is when the baby gets sick. You mentioned the problem of a back up plan when your nanny calls out, but that is probably a much less frequent problem than having a sick baby. And if the baby is in daycare, s/he will inevitably get sick even more often (as you mentioned, germs!), and you wind up stuck with no back up plan more often with daycare than with a nanny.
So, it seems like you've done a lot of the research and come to the right conclusion for you, for now. As you said, these decisions aren't forever and you can always reevaluate your needs again later.
