Hi Samantha,
I am a grandmother of two girls and I have participated in raising both girls since they we very young.
I have a suggestion. Many women my age are home now after having worked a great part of their lives and are searching for something to keep busy and make a contribution to life.
I know this isn't for everyone. But in a city as big as New York, I'm sure there are plenty of women with years of experience in raising children. I have always thought there should be a GRANDMA ( or in my case MIMI) list available for women with a predicament like yours. I would reach out to any organization that may support these women still looking for supplement to their own incomes. Past and present moms need to form a connection somehow to help new moms feel more secure about leaving for work in the morning. Good Luck in your search.
